Beginner Sewing Skills: Make Your Own Wrap Skirt

Step into summer in a made by you, for you, wrap skirt. The simple pattern that will be used in this class can be customized to your size and style – anything from a casual beach cover-up to a special piece for a night out.

Amanda will guide students though the simple assembly process, providing sewing instruction for the necessary basic skills along the way.  Minimal sewing experience is required – if you know how to turn the machine on and sew a straight line, you are ready for this skirt! (If you need to brush up on these skills, please see the June 7th opportunity for in-studio preparation.)

Skills to be taught: pattern reading, inserting darts, and top stitching.

Students are encouraged to bring their own tabletop sewing machines (in working order) although we have a few to share if you do not have one.

Amanda will provide a supply list and preparation instructions via email after you register. Students will be expected to purchase supplies and cut out pattern pieces prior to class. Supplies include: re-usable multi-style pattern, approx. 3 yards of fabric, and thread. Estimated cost of supplies is $20+, depending on fabric selection.

Sunday, June 18 | 10 am - 1 pm | $25 (plus cost of your supplies)

Note: This project requires some simple hand sewing that will have to be completed after class.

Location: Soulistic Sisters Studio, 3303 Remembrance Rd NW, Suite 3, GR, MI 49543
